I've learned something new in the past year of being active in the Pro-life ministry. If you want to see someone's true nature, to see the compassion, the anger, the venom, or the apathy, then ask them of their thoughts about abortion. I've seen that spark in the eye when another Christian gets it, sees the vision, and means it when they tell me, "I want to help out any way I can." I've seen the grayness and gloss in the eyes of those I meet that tell me, "That's not really my thing, I mean I think that's good and all but it's kind of a political topic." I've also seen the empty, cold, darkness in the eyes of those that curse me to my face and accuse me of wanting women to die at the hands of "Back Alley Butchers."
Postmodernism seems to be more prevalent today than ever before. A way for people to deny any accountability to moral law because the very concept is brought into relativity. "Well I'm glad you found your truth but that doesn't make it everyone's truth" Any Christian that enjoys friendly debating with nonbelievers as much as I do has probably heard a statement similar to this before. Truth is Truth. Truth is absolute. It's a true statement that every human being on earth needs oxygen to survive. That's not just my truth, it's yours as well. Don't believe me? Hold your breath and count to 3:00 minutes.
This brings us to the question, "Is purposely ending a pregnancy through means of abortion morally wrong?" Could someone justify the reply of "Well abortion may be wrong to you, but that doesn't make it wrong for others." Wait, didn't we already determine that Truth was absolute? So if we have two differing opinions, then both cannot be the Truth. Was Adolph Hitler's orchestration of the murder of millions upon millions of Jews, Slavs, and other minorities OK? But those groups were Sub Human right? They couldn't be considered comparable to the rest of us. Killing them isn't murder, it's Hitler's Choice. It's Hitler's Truth. I can imagine that if Hitler didn't take his own life, and was brought before a world court and he pleaded that very case, then the world would look at him with shock, disgust, anger, and contempt.
For us as Christians to have anything less than that spark and fire in our eyes, to apathetically sit by and say "that's good but it's not really my thing, I voted pro-life so I did my part.".......That is no different than to be comfortable with Adolph Hitler pronouncing his "Truth" on the world. The definition of murder is :to kill in cold blood with malice and forethought. It's a simple message. Either you as a Christian recognize that murder by abortion is wrong according to God's word and the moral law he has written on your heart, or you accept it as a fact of life, something to be accepting of and not worth fighting for. Proverbs 6:16-19 says that "God hates hands that shed innocent blood." If your reading this as a Christian and your on the fence about the subject, not sure if you are willing to get active, then I urge you to to spend time in God's word and Prayer and let him reveal his will to you.
No government, military, principality, demon or devil in hell can't stop my God from his will. I know this cause is God's will because he was gracious enough to give us his word to live by. It's time for we as Christians to do as David did so many years ago and to pick up some stones from the creek bed, walk out into the battle field in what seems to be insurmountable odds and realize we have the Alpha and Omega fighting the battles for us. God wants to use us a vessel's to save the lives of unborn children that die every day from abortion. It's time to make a choice.
